The highrise building named ‘Memorial Necropole Ecumenica’ in Santos, Brazil is the world’s highest vertical cemetery, according to the Guinness World Records. The building located in the city’s Marape district has 14 storeys and contains about 16,000 graves, seeks to increase the capacity to 25,000 units. It further features wake rooms, a peacock garden, a chapel, and a snack bar on the roof.
The number of floors is supposed to more than double to 32. When that occurs, the highest grave will be 108 metres closer to heaven than a typical underground grave.
