To ease the process of property registration, the state government on Thursday announced e-payment of stamp duty in the state, a notification for which was issued on Thursday.
“Now people can pay the stamp duty, registration fee or any other charges online. The payment will be directly transferred to the state exchequer. This will make the payment system easy and transparent,” said Rajesh Kumar Yadav, ADM, G BNagar.
The users may first visit the district registration department where they will get a slip for payment of stamp duties. “People can then log in to the website — http://igrsup.gov.in/. Then they can make the online payment receive receipt. The receipt shall be submitted in the registration department,” Yadav said
The sub-registrar will then verify the payment and complete the registration process. Yadav said that the new e-payment system will reduce the time for registration. “People will not have to wait for hours in the queue for payment of stamp duty. This will bring transparency in the system,” he said.
As per the notification, the system also allows users to return their payment if they want. In this case, people can forward the application to the office of the concerned sub-registrar. The sub registrar, after verification shall forward it to the assistant commissioner (stamp) of the district. The assistant commissioner (stamp) shall complete the procedure.
