World’s Oldest and Deepest Stepwell in Rajasthan has 3,500 steps

Chand Baori in the Abhaneri village in Rajasthan has 3,500 symmetrical steps, making it one of the largest stepwells in the world. The well, which has 13 floors, is over 1000 years old. Built by King Chanda of the Nikumbha Dynasty, the construction was aimed to conserve water and provide a respite from heat.
